Collaborations

Collaboration plays an important role in my practice, with projects developed alongside photographers, poets, and watercolour artists. Bringing different viewpoints together allows the work to become more layered and expansive, often extending beyond the visual to create shared responses to place, history, and experience. If you’re interested in collaborating or exploring a shared project, please get in touch.

Footprints in Time

A Collaboration with Ray Gumbley Photography

'Footprints in Time' is a tribute to the skill, dedication, and artistry found in everyday craftsmanship. Inspired by Gary from Little Cobblers and Key Smiths in Derby, this piece celebrates the beauty in the tools and materials of his trade. By integrating Ray's photographs with materials shoes are made from, drawings and papers created from shoe sole rubbings, and elements such as the keys hanging on hooks, we aim to highlight the intricate details and stories embedded in Gary's workspace.

This project merges visual art and artisanal craft, capturing the essence of a lifetime's work and the timeless art of shoemaking and key smithing

Size: 35x45cm, ready to hang.

Media used: Photographs, prints, paper, fabric, faux leather, wood.

Factory Folds

A Collaboration with Watercolour Artist Lisa Battelle

Inspired by Wilson’s boot factory in Melbourne, South Derbyshire. Featuring two levels of nested accordion panels with watercolour paintings by Lisa capturing different architectural elements. The structure echoes the distinctive brickwork pattern, while the shoe lace closure nods to its industrial past. This piece reflects the layered history, with the folds symbolising both the intricate craftsmanship and the eventual ‘folding’ of the company itself.

Size: 6 x 18 x 1.5cm, opens to 27cm

Media used: Paper, card, paint, original mixed media and paper collages

One off Book

Collaboration with Poet Camille McCawley

A collection of 5 poems inspired by the community of Melbourne, South Derbyshire for my Reviving Melbourne Project.

'The piece we created together is something I could never have achieved on my own. Jenny’s thoughtful approach and innovative ideas helped bring the project to life in ways I hadn’t imagined, transforming individual concepts into a cohesive and impactful installation. Collaborating with her not only expanded my creative horizons but also reinforced the power of working together to achieve something truly meaningful.'
