The Walls Within
The Walls Within was inspired by the unintentional beauty of the destruction of buildings and the memories embedded in the neighbouring walls.

In this collection of twelve 10 x 10cm mixed media collages on wood panels, I explore secret spaces, revealed after a structure has been torn down. The study of these buildings through sketches has revealed a variety of textures and recurring patterns of the partitions between rooms and floors and the zigzags of exposed staircases. Working on this series has made me aware of the history and future of our cities and how they grow and change over time.
