Projects
My projects uncover the hidden stories within places shaped by industry and community. Inspired by trades like framework knitting, textiles, and shoemaking, my mixed media collages capture the skills, resilience, and connections behind them. Each piece preserves fragments of local history, inviting viewers to reflect on the people and craftsmanship that shaped these communities.
Through the Frame
An collection of mixed media collages inspired by Ruddington’s historic Framework Knitting Industry. The works explore stories of making, material, and place, reflecting both the architecture of the cottages and the lives shaped by the industry. Using layered papers, fabrics, and stitching, the collages capture the textures of work, home, and community, offering a contemporary response to this important part of Nottinghamshire’s heritage.
Reviving Melbourne
Reviving Melbourne is an exploration of the old buildings of Melbourne (South Derbyshire, UK) and its historical significance. Through research, personal and local oral histories, I co-created a body of mixed-media artworks that reflects the stories of the village's industrial past. The project included the facilitation of six workshops with community members, aimed at developing both artistic skills and connections within the community.
Beyond the Windows
Taking inspiration from architectural shapes and textures of the weathered buildings, abstracting and layering in found papers and incorporating other materials from the Derbyshire Textile mills such as thread, fabric, wood and metal.
The work highlights people’s experiences and the history of the mills and evokes memories.
The Walls Within
The Walls Within was inspired by the unintentional beauty of the destruction of buildings and the memories embedded in the neighbouring walls.

Collaborations
Collaboration plays an important role in my practice, with projects developed alongside photographers, poets, and watercolour artists. Bringing different viewpoints together allows the work to become more layered and expansive, often extending beyond the visual to create shared responses to place, history, and experience.
