Trace Remains is part of the Walls Within collection of twelve 10x10cm mixed media collages on wood panels. Inspired by the unintentional beauty of the destruction of buildings and the memories embedded in the neighbouring walls. The series explores the secret spaces, revealed after a structure has been torn down. Studying the buildings through sketches discovered a variety of textures and recurring patterns of the partitions between rooms and floors and the zigzags of exposed staircases. Working on this collection has made me aware of both the history and future of our cities and how they grow and change over time.

Each piece is 10x10cm and includes a 15x15cm floating frame, ready to hang.
